A full menu shoot is a logistics problem as much as a photography one. We build a running order with the kitchen so dishes come out in the sequence that keeps everything looking its best, hot food first and anything that wilts or melts timed to the minute. Shooting to a consistent setup also means the twelfth plate still matches the first, which matters a great deal once the images sit side by side on a menu page or a delivery app.
Drinks have their own rules. A cocktail photographs best in the few seconds after the pour, before the foam settles and the condensation starts to run, so we light and frame the shot before the glass is ever built. For bar and cocktail programs we cover the signature pours, the garnish detail and the room behind them, which leaves you with something for the menu, something for the wall and something for the feed.
We work with chef-owned restaurants, multi-location groups, bars, breweries, caterers, food brands and the agencies who represent them. A food shoot often picks up the rest of what a venue needs in the same visit, including chef and staff portraits, packaging and product stills for retail, and video for the website. Both. We regularly shoot on-site at restaurants, bars and venues throughout the Phoenix metro area, and we can also work in a studio setting when you need a controlled look.
How quickly will we get our images?
Edited, high-resolution images are usually with you within a few days of the shoot. Tell us if a menu or print deadline needs them sooner.
What areas do you serve?
Based in Phoenix, we regularly photograph food and drink in Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Glendale and throughout the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.
Do you offer video as well as photography?
Yes. Along with photography we produce food and drink video, including social-ready reels of pours, prep and plated dishes formatted for Instagram and TikTok.
Do we need a food stylist, or do you handle that?
We handle styling on most shoots, and for larger menu shoots or campaign work we bring in a food stylist we have worked with for years. Either way the plating, props and surfaces are planned before the first dish leaves the kitchen.
Can you shoot while we are open?
Usually yes, though the best results come from shooting before service or between rushes, when the kitchen has room to plate for camera. We work quickly and stay out of the line either way.
